Motivation to Lose Weight
Easy as 1-2-3

What Motivates You to Lose Weight?

What gives you the motivation to lose weight? Does having to spend endless hours at the gym motivate you? Or does living off of salads motivate you? I'm guessing that the answer to both of those questions would be no.

You can slim down just by eating real food. You can lose weight by enjoying delicious healthy grains, fats, sweeteners and meats. Exercise is important so I'm definitely not suggesting that you don't get any exercise but 80% of your weight loss is affected by the food you eat and only 20% of weight loss consists of exercise.

Motivation to Lose Weight with Healthy Grains

Spelt Flour Cherry Apple Pie

When consuming healthy ancient grains such as kamut, spelt, sorghum, teff, oats, buckwheat or quinoa you are getting a whole lot of essential vitamins and minerals as well as your daily fiber. The vitamins and minerals in these grains will benefit your body greatly while the fiber will keep your bowels regulated which will help to flush toxins out of your system. You can find out more on these healthy grains by clicking on the links.

It's extremely important to realize that refined wheat flour such as enriched wheat flour is just a recipe for weight gain and poor overall health. Even the so called healthy breads that are on the store shelves that are  considered to be whole grain are still made from refined flour and if the wheat isn't organic it's simply bad for your health and your weight period. Today's modern wheat( dwarf wheat ), has far more gluten in it and because it's a genetically modified wheat the body has a very difficult time processing it. Ancient grains such as the healthy grains mentioned above will not wreak havoc on your waistline but white bread and refined flours of any kind sure will. Consuming these healthy grains will allow you to be able to enjoy bread and yes even pancakes while continuing to give you even more motivation to lose weight.

Healthy Sweets and Weight Loss

It's very difficult to continue to have motivation to lose weight when you are restricted from being able to have a piece of pie or a few cookies, and fruit doesn't always cut it. Sure, fruit is extremely healthy and I would never discourage anybody from eating it but let's admit it, sometimes we just like to have some cookies, cake or chocolate. Having to abstain from all sweets can become very difficult not to mention discouraging when others around you are eating them.

Some healthy sweets that you can enjoy in moderation on your motivation to lose weight program are sweets made with coconut palm sugar, maple syrup, stevia, honey and black-strap molasses. I make a delicious "spelt flour fruit cake" sweetened with coconut palm sugar. I also have a great recipe for some amazing "spelt flour chocolate chip cookies" sweetened with coconut palm sugar and I also make a "spelt flour apple pie" sweetened with honey. If you'd like to learn more about these healthy sweeteners and recipes you can click on the links. You can also have some extra dark chocolate in moderation just as long as it's at least 72% cocoa and it contains the right oils.

Also as mentioned earlier fruits are extremely healthy sweets. For more on the health benefits of fruits click here.

Refined sugars and artificial sweeteners such as sucralose and aspartame will not only destroy your figure, but also your overall health.. For more on these bad sweeteners click on the links.

Healthy Fats for Energy and Weight Loss

Fresh Butter, a Great Fat Burner!

It was once believed that cutting fats from your diet would help you to lose weight. This is absolutely false. As a matter of fact, fats such as coconut oilolive oil, butter, ghee and avocado oil are big fat burners. It's also a fact that saturated fats such as butter and ghee are essential for helping the body to absorb healthy nutrients from your fruits and vegetables. The right fats turn up the furnaces in your cells speeding your metabolism and causing your body to burn fat. for more on these healthy fats you can click on the links. Nuts also promote weight loss. For more on those click here.

Bad Fats Equals Weight Gain

Bad fats which were introduced into the North American diet such as canola oil, shortening and margarine will cause internal inflammation amounting to weight gain and a multitude of illnesses.

Such oils which are partially hydrogenated oils cause clogged arteries leading to cardiovascular disease and extreme weight gain. For more in depth information on these unhealthy oils simply click on the associated link.

Exercise for Weight Loss

As Iv'e mentioned earlier on, exercise is extremely important with keeping one's weight down or for losing weight. However, that doesn't mean that you have to kill yourself at the gym. Moderate exercise is essential and just 40 minutes a day can benefit the body greatly. You can also go for a nice walk and enjoy the outdoors or if weather isn't permitting, you can invest in a treadmill, stair climber, or any of the vast pieces of equipment suitable for your lifestyle to get your heart and lungs pumping. Weight resistance training is also very beneficial.

Keep in mind that losing weight, staying fit and being overall healthy is more greatly achieved through the food we eat. Exercise will not benefit you near as much if you're eating processed garbage laden down with bad oils, artificial sweeteners and unhealthy grains.
